Allied Auto Repair Club to present first Placerville Speedway sponsor night April 5

PLACERVILLE, CA (3-19-08) - Saturday night, April 5th will be “Allied Auto Repair Club Night” at Placerville Speedway. On this special night, 360 sprint cars, pro stocks and pure stocks will be in competition along with the Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association for the second segment of the El Dorado County New Car Dealers – Hoosier Racing Tires – Coors Light championship racing season.

With the special sponsorship of the Allied Auto Repair Club, the winner of the sprint car feature event will earn an additional $500 bonus for their efforts. The lucky winner will accept the fruit of their labor before a crowd that will include some 100 members of the Allied Auto Repair Club, located just a few minutes from the speedway.

Allied Auto Repair Club was created in 2007 to provide the everyday do-it-yourselfer with a place to come and work on and learn about their vehicles. The Allied Auto Repair Club allows for you to work on your vehicle(s) in their professional, 5,000 square foot facility with a total of 9 bays with professional tools and equipment, along with professional support with over 40 years of experience. Members receive discounts of up to 20% off on all of your parts, tires, towing, emissions, and exhaust work.

Not mechanically inclined? No problem. The staff of professionals at Allied Auto Repair Club can give you the support that you need through experience and know how, along with an extensive inventory of service manuals and programs. Their free weekly How-to-Clinics will give their members the knowledge that you need to service your vehicles, as well as maintain them properly. By joining the Allied Auto Repair club, race fans and drivers alike can start saving $100's or even $1,000's of dollars spent at area automotive service centers, simply due to the fact they lack the tools or facility to due the repair themselves.

Long time El Dorado County resident and automotive specialist Bob Nesbitt is the director of Allied Auto Repair Club. A strong supporter of local auto racing, Nesbitt encourages race fans as well as drivers to utilize the services Allied has to offer.

‘There’s a lot of people who have the ability to work on their own cars but lack the tools or facility to do so,” said Nesbitt. “Many neighborhoods don’t allow residents to make repairs to their vehicles or race cars. We have the perfect solution for that, a full service auto repair facility with all the equipment they need including specialized tools, lifts and dynos. It’s a service for the do it yourself mechanic and a service for the community.”

Nesbitt looks forward to bringing his members and associates to Placerville Speedway on Saturday, April 5th and encourages the public to check our their facility and services by either logging on to www.AlliedAutoRepairClub.com online or stopping by the shop at 2561 Blacks Lane in Placerville, just a half mile from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Ironically, the location of Allied Auto Repair Club is rich in the history of Placerville Speedway as it once was the home of Gilly’s Auto Wreckers, operated by the Gillihan family, who fielded numerous of talented drivers in the early days of racing in El Dorado County.

Allied Auto Repair Club will be the first of several special nights at Placerville Speedway as a number of area businesses and organizations have signed up to participate in the 2008 ‘New Faces at the Races” program. This sponsorship program allow a business to award their customers or associates complimentary tickets to the speedway while advertising their services to more than 1000 race fans on their scheduled night and to thousands of readers who learn of their participation though various media releases, websites and newspapers prior to the event.

The sponsorship money is awarded to the feature event winner, bringing the victory up to $1700 for the evening, an incentive that routinely draws additional competitors to the event and may encourage that second place runner to make that nail biting pass on the final lap that the fans will long remember.

Additional businesses and organizations who have committed to sponsor nights at Placerville Speedway in the year to come include Family Chevrolet Cadillac, The Placerville and El Dorado Hills branches of the Golden One Credit Union, The Cold Springs Community Church of Placerville, Morrison Concrete of Forest Hill and Blue Planet Specialized Parts which has a number of Northern California locations.

“There’s a buzz coming to Placerville Speedway this year from the business community and it’s very refreshing to see it come together,” said Bill Sullivan, Director of Communications for Placerville Speedway. “This is a great way for an organization to advertise their services or cause and it brings new fans to the speedway that often return thereafter after they witness the excitement of local dirt track racing. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.”

A limited number of sponsorships remain available for the 2008 racing season at Placerville Speedway. For further information on the program and its different levels, business owners or organizations can contact Sullivan by email at placervillespeedway@yahoo.com.
