Sacramento driver adds third California championship to his resume of accomplishments
When it comes to the combination of talent and professionalism, Sacramento resident Sean
Becker is undoubtedly one of the true ambassadors to the sport of sprint car racing. From the start of his racing
career, Becker has been known for his respect on and off the race track, his sincere personality and most of all,
his consistent competitive nature behind the wheel of a winged sprint car. It has been that trio of qualities that
led Becker to his third racing championship in California Saturday night.

The 2008 Hoosier Racing
Tires, New Car Dealers of El Dorado County, Arnolds for Awards championship
racing season came to a dramatic close at Placerville Speedway Saturday
night. With many racers and fans remembering a trio of fallen contributors
to the sport, one local driver captured his first career win and was joined
by three repeat winners amidst an infield celebration that simultaneously
crowned three season champions.

Racers and fans raise nearly $3000 to bring former racer Dan
Ramey back home
Saturday night the emotions were high at Placerville Speedway. Drivers and crews
throughout the pit area were mingling in a somber fashion, talking about the shocking news they received late in the
week about the passing of former racer and contributor Dan Ramey of Cameron Park. Ramey, 52, suffered a fatal heart
attack while vacationing in Las Vegas Thursday morning.

received the heartbreaking and shocking news of the passing of our great friend and contributor Dan Ramey of Cameron
Park.

This Saturday night will mark the final championship point race of the 2008 New Car
Dealers of El Dorado County, Hoosier Tires, Arnolds for Award championship season at Placerville Speedway. Four
divisions of racing will be on hand Saturday night, 360 sprint cars, pro stocks, pure stocks and the visiting midget
lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association. The big news, admission is only five dollars for adults Saturday and
kids 11 and under are free as John Padjen Motorsports brings back “Fan Appreciation night” to end a successful
season amidst tough economic times.

Wiesz denied sixth victory by Outlaws’ Sammy Swindell in
Placerville shootout
After outlasting Outlaw racer Danny Lasoski last Saturday night, Colfax point leader
Colby Wiesz was on a mission Saturday night with two goals in mind. Number one; become the winningest driver of the
year here and win his sixth feature at Placerville Speedway in the John Taylor Motorsports #35 sprint car. Number
two; hold off three time World of Outlaws’ Champion Sammy Swindell of Germantown, TN while performing goal number
one. Although he led nearly every lap of the event, Wiesz will have to wait one more week to accomplish his goal and
he can thank winner Swindell for the set back.

Placerville and Wiesz still wins
Brown and Tilford repeat in stock car divisions on “Morrison Concrete Kids Night”
Saturday night was a big night for kids at Placerville Speedway. Not only was it
‘Morrison Concrete Kids Night,” but a racing super star made a surprise visit to Placerville Speedway, four time
Knoxville Nationals champion and World of Outlaws star Danny “The Dude” Lasoski of Dover, MO. Saturday marked the
first time Lasoski raced at Placerville Speedway since 1991.

Five different divisions came together for an action packed night
of racing at Alan Padjen's Placerville Speedway Saturday Night. With the sprint car divisions absent, action was
still far from lackluster as three wingless open wheel divisions joined both of Placerville Speedway's stock car
divisions for the 14th Hoosier Tires-New Car Dealers of El Dorado County-Arnolds for Awards Championship event of
the year.
