Wiesz continues to rule Placerville point standings with second feature win of the year
Colby Wiesz of Colfax increased his early season point lead Saturday night at Placerville Speedway with his second feature win of the season in the 2008 New Car Dealers of El Dorado County, Hoosier Racing Tires, Coors Light championship campaign. Wiesz was joined in victory lane during the seventh championship event of the season by several northeast neighbors including Pro Stock winner Dan Brown Jr. of Nevada City, Pure Stock winner Mike McClure of Nevada City and Daniel Weger of Grass Valley .

Family Chevrolet extends marketing partnership with Placerville Speedway for remainder of 2008 racing season
For the last five racing seasons, Family Chevrolet-Cadillac of Shingle Springs has sponsored the Annual Tribute to Al Hinds race at Placerville Speedway. Now, the longtime area auto dealership has collaborated with John Padjen Motorsports, partnering to promote the sport of auto racing in El Dorado County for the remainder of the 2008 racing season.

Successful duo of Wiesz and Taylor look to maintain point lead entering point race seven
 
During his racing career, Colfax resident Colby Wiesz has driven for very few different car owners. The majority of his career has been spent behind the wheel of his family owned team prior to filling in for David Robinson Jr. for 2006-2007 with the FnF Racing Team. This year, the multi-time Marysville Raceway Park track champion has teamed with veteran car owner John Taylor and just five races into the season the duo obviously proves to be a perfect blend of talent and commitment.

Forsberg scores third Placerville win to cap off $4000 weekend of success
Auburn native Andy Forsberg gave his mother a pair of presents over Mother's Day weekend. It wasn't in the form of jewelry or flowers but he certainly has some extra cash to do that now after winning a total of $4000 in his A&A Stepping Stone #92 sprint car over the weekend. Following a victory Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Forsberg drive to his third win of the season at Placerville Speedway Saturday night to win $2000 on Cold Springs Community Church Night.

Saturday is Cold Springs Community Church Night at Placerville Speedway
Community sponsorship continues this Saturday night at Placerville Speedway for the sixth New Car Dealers of El Dorado County, Hoosier Racing Tires, Arnolds for Awards championship point racing of the season. This Saturday will be "Cold Springs Community Church Night" at the El Dorado County Fairground with bonus winnings for all three of the weekly divisions.

Robinson returns to victory in most heroic fashion, winning the Tribute to Al Hinds
Fifth annual event draws record, standing room only crowd to El Dorado Fairground
Since the start of the 2008 racing season, David Robinson Jr. of Foresthill has been eager to return to the victory circle at Placerville Speedway. The former two time Civil War and Placerville Speedway track champion has led a number of events but victory continued to elude him as he returned from a two-year hiatus from the sport.

Forsberg returns to his Mr. Excitement nature in fifth Placerville point race
Auburn's Andy Forsberg returned to his Mr. Excitement nature Saturday night for the fifth New Car Dealers of El Dorado County, Hoosier Racing Tires, Coors Light Championship event of the season. Forsberg returned to victory lane at the track he calls home for the second time this season and shared victory lane with Pure Stock driver Dan Brown Jr. of Nevada City, Pure Stock racer Tom Tilford of Folsom and Jeremy Blackshire of the Nor Cal Dwarf Cars.

Wiesz drives Taylor Motorsports to first 2008 Placerville Speedway victory
Grunert Jr., Brown share stock car victories; Hanestad continues to win in wingless
Colby Wiesz of Colfax is obviously adjusting well in the driver's seat of his new ride for the 2008 racing season at Placerville Speedway. Entering the fourth championship point racing of the season as the point leader, Wiesz muscled his way to his first victory aboard the John Taylor Motorsports #35 sprint car.

Flock, Hanestad, Nunes share open wheel victories in Placerville Totally Wingless night
Veterans Arbogast, Grunert score first wins of 2008 in stock car divisions
After a midweek race that saw as many caution flags as laps, Placerville Speedway welcomed a night of trouble free, action packed racing on Saturday night. Five divisions were on hand for the event bannered as “Totally Wingless 2008” featuring the Bay Cities Racing Association’s Midgets and Midget Lites along with the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprints, and the regular Pure Stock and Pro Stock divisions.
