Saldana
untouchable in Thursday night Gold Cup preliminary feature Lasoski
leads field tonight Lasoski enters tonight's event trailing defending champion Steve Kinser of Bloomington, IN. Lasoski drives for car owner and NASCAR champion Tony Stewart and hopes to close the point gap between he and Kinser to win his second series crown and Gold Cup, which he won in 2000. Kinser is the defending Gold Cup champion after a long dry spell following nine wins here between 1978 and 1992. After breaking the dry spell last year, Kinser went on to claim the 2002 World of Outlaws championship title. Local favorite Tim Kaeding is on the entrant list
tonight. Kaeding won the preliminary event last year and chased Kinser to the
finish in the final. Activities
are a plenty in race central Tonight will mark the second night of preliminary
action on the track for the World of Outlaws with action gearing up around 6:30
for qualifying, heat races and feature events for the second half of the field
and the car count is expected to be in the 50 entrant range. |
