Pittman, who earned the pole position in Thursday's feature with a victory in the earlier Channellock Dash, muscled ahead of Danny Lasoski at the waving of the green flag and pulled several car lengths ahead just as the yellow caution flag gathered the field with two laps complete when Danny Wood brought his machine to a halt on the birm of turns one and two. On the ensuing restart, Pittman maintained the point as Lasoski went to battle with Sammy Swindell and Haudenschild for the next three positions. Immediately following the waving of the green flag, Haudenschild set his sights on advancing through the field as he overtook Swindell in turns one and two and was setting his sights on Lasoski for second just as a pair of caution flags delayed the event at the four lap mark. The first yellow flag flew for debris on the track, the second coming out on the ensuing restart as Beau Perkins spun in the second turn. Once the green flag flew again, Pittman set the pace and the battle between Lasoski and Haudenschild for the bridesmaid position stole the show as "The Dude" and the "Wild Child" went to battle side by side until the ninth lap when Haudenschild's outside line finally paid off in turns one and two when he overtook Lasoski for the second position and quickly reeled his Jack Elden owned #22 to within inches of Pittman, passing him for the lead just yellow came out with ten laps complete,, placing Pittman back on the point for the restart. When green flag action resumed, Pittman was well aware that Haudenschild would be on the move to redeem the previous pass as he maintained a low-groove stance on the fast quarter-mile in an effort to block Haudenschild's efforts. Haudenschild, however, positioned himself on the high groove of the track and race side by side with Pittman for the next four laps until Jim VanLare of Windsor spun in the fourth turn to bring out a yellow flag and give Pittman some breathing room. `Following the restart, the battle between Pittman and Haudenschild continued with Haudenschild passing Pittman again on the 16th lap, only to see a yellow flag revert the line-up to the previous lap again. On the final restart of the evening, Pittman set the pace once again as Lasoski joined the top runner's party and pulled to the inside of Haudenschild to challenge for second place. Once Haudenschild muscled ahead of Lasoski the battle with Pittman resumed for the lead with Pittman running the low line and Haudenschild riding the rim of the track outside of Pittman. With 20-laps in the book Haudenschild high-line efforts on Pittman's lead came to a conclusion as he drifted off of the edge of turn two and spun to a halt to draw the yellow flag. With Haudenschild restarting from the rear of the field, Laososki advanced to second place to challenge Pittman for the waning laps with Stevie Smith and Sammy Swindell in tow. When the checkered flag flew Pittman earned the win ahead of Lasoski, Swindell, Smith and Tim Kaeding. "I'm not usually very good on these quarter-mile tracks so this fells really good. "As hard as Jac was driving on the high side I knew he was capable of getting by me again until he slid off the edge, I got couple of second chances out here tonight with the yellow flags. I just concentrated on driving my line for all 25-laps and it paid off tonight and things look good for tomorrow night." With a number of cars dropping out of competition following heat race action only a B-main was necessary to complete preliminary action Thursday night. In this 12-lap event action started off with a red flag as Tim Grogan of Santa Rosa took a tumble in the fourth turn. Once the green flag was officially waved on this event, Roseville's Gerrold Hopping drove off of the pole position to take the intial lead with Australia's Peter Murphy in tow. After trailing Hopping for the first two laps, Murphy overtook the top position with an outside pass on Hopping on the front stretch of the third circuit. Once in front, Murphy stretched his lead to several car lengths over Hopping and Colfax driver Colby Weisz. At the 10-lap Mk a yellow flag delayed the event when Mark Moore brought his car to a stall on the front stretch. During the caution period it became apparent Murphy was suffering motor woes as his powerplant began sputtering during the caution laps. When the restart took place, Murphy managed to maintain the lead to the finish line where his motor seized and concluded his efforts for the night despite the win over Weisz, Hopping and Mike Henry. In heat race competition, Daryn Pittman took the lead at the waving of the green flag in heat race one and held off the challenges of Haudenschild who started third and rapidly moved into the bridesmaid position. In the second heat race of the evening, Sammy Swindell muscled from his third place starting position nto overtake early race leader Ryan Flynn. Despite suffering an oil fire, local driver JimVanlare of Windsor crossed the finish line in the fourth position to qualify for the A-feature. In the third heat race of the evening, Jimmy Carr led the 10-lap event from start to finish. The final heat race of the evening had track regular Jonathan Allard earning the win over Stevie Smith and Tommy Tarlton.
