Oklahoma's Pittman earns first World of Outlaws career victory in Gold Cup Friday preliminary program
Preliminary competition for the 47th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions officially went into the history books on Friday night as 22-year-old Daryn Pittman of Owasso, Oklahoma earned his first World of Outlaws career victory in the 25-lap preliminary A-feature on John Padjen's Silver Dollar Speedway.

Action continues for the 47th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions Saturday night with big 47th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions featuring main events for all those who qualified on Thursday and Friday nights. Complete line-ups for Saturday's feature events were being completed at press time on Friday and will be released Saturday morning. Shaffer, Lasoski will lead feature tonight
King of the Outlaws will have to come from seventh in B-Main event
With two nights of qualifying complete, the stage has been set for the 40-lap feature event on the Silver Dollar quarter-mile tonight.

After qualifying second on Thursday night and winning the preliminary feature event, Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, PA. Shaffer, who drives the #11H Vivarin Eagle and will look to lead tonight's event much like he did on Thursday. Thursday's preliminary victory earned Shaffer $5000, tonight's event is worth $20,000 to the winner.

Joining Shaffer on the front row will be Danny "The Dude" Lasoski who finished second in last night's program and earned the outside starting position by means of his feature finish along with his third place qualifying time.

Annual Gold Cup Barbecue set for noon
At the noon hour those of you who have taken up residence here at the Silver Dollar Fairgound will want to make your way over towards the pit gate area of the campground, also known as “the party zone” for Alan Padjen’s Annual Rib Roast.

Grilled ribs, corn, salad and all the fixings are on the menu and it’s all free to Gold Cup campers courtesy of Placerville Speedway promoter Alan Padjen and the “party zone” crew which will once again act as the mess crew for this event.
